Dear Mum
Performance created and presented by the Luxembourgish artist and dancer William Cardoso.
This photographic documentation portrays the visual impact this piece had on me as spectator. The expressive character is reinforced by a high-contrast colour palette that simultaneously gives a nod to being part of the LGBTQ+ community. Queerness and religious fanaticism stand in a direct opposition to each other.
“The heaviness of the lies on a body, like a cross one has to carry. A sin one has not commited. Playing roles in order to feel accepted and loved by others. I used to pray when I was younger, to be different like all the others.”
— William Cardoso
